Cursive show

Cursive show
Thoughts - this is goodbye
Man the lead singer looks like Adam levine, but not quite as talented
eeek. Haven't heard an opening band I loved in a long time. This band
is good but not a cd buying moment.

Good thing they just gave me one for free then. Score.

Unfortunately the song that sold me is a cover :( but the harmony is
great.

So in my normal rating procedure:
Hollow bodied ibanez = win.
Great bass player = win.
Ending when you should = priceless

Should be counting the number of times I've been stepped on. Or the
number of incorrect musical references the indie snobs behind me have
made. Note: "old" music from a band with 8 CDs is from the 7th one.
Shit. Oh...they aren't old enough to know the real 'old' music.

Cursive;:
Not exactly the prettiest band to look at. But exactly how a punk show
should be. Too loud too hot and never too much bass.

You know you're pretty awesome when you are shaking a rattle in one
hand and playing flugel with the other.

However, I am allergic to extremely loud recorded set endings. Headache.

Death Cab for Cutie 4.11.09

Orpheum Theater - Memphis, TN.
Openers: Cold War Kids, Ra Ra Riot

This concert was freaking great. But so has every other death cab concert I've been to. We didn't really see the openers, which was ok with me because I nearly fell asleep in the one we did see. Blah. I must be getting old because the drunk frat boys behind us were getting on my last nerves.

They played Title and Registration, which is my all time favorite. I really liked the two new ones I didn't know (aka haven't bought the cd yet, give me 5 minutes). Most of the rest of the music was big hits (sounds of settling, new year, movie script ending, crooked teeth) or things from the new album.

I am always amazed at Ben Gibbard's ability to make me believe in music again.

Cursive in two weeks!
