been so busy I forgot that I liked to do things like update my blog.

here's a picture of me rolling my eyes at not one but TWO faculty meetings in one day. Shoot me.

In other news, addicted to Stephen King's the Dark Tower, burning my hands with my flat iron, the new and working EEG machine, Fringe, and Flash Forward.

Books I am currently ignoring: Fifth in the vampire diaries series (which is a series that I'm currently tivoing but not watching), the grotesque (which is exceedingly weird), a horrid indie poetry book, and about 45 other series.

TV shows I'm sort of keeping up on: fringe, vampire diaries (see above), project runway, CSI (NY and LV), flash forward, so you think you can dance, america's next top model and about 5 others i'm sure I'm forgetting.

Tap dance class day is wednesday. Kind of nervous.

I'm a spaz today.

Job search is underway but going slowly (meaning I haven't heard anything yet). More soon!

Howdy all...I've been posting from the road but am finally home for a while. Yippee!

Have I mentioned to anyone that I am in a constant state of excitement about this year's football season!? I have great tickets and then I have exciting games and then I'm ready to get started. The Grove is where it's at.

So the title of my post and the content of this post today come to you straight from the Johnson Commons cafeteria. Which has been taken over. By foreigners!

The English Second Language program has a bunch of new students. I've never heard so many different languages at one time. That's cool. They are cool. Their understanding of American's is not cool.

For instance, Americans have one of the widest "talking space" distances. That's your "bubble" or how close you want people to stand to you when you are talking to them. The more intimate you are with a person the closer you'll let them stand.

Therefore, when I am standing at the cafeteria and I don't know who the heck you are, you should give me a wide berth.

However, when it's full of crazy Europeans (who have a very small bubble), I'm totally squished up next to someone who's fresh off the boat, doesn't understand subtle English and smells. Yes. My day is complete.

Neuromancer is one of my all time favorite books. Gibson is a GENIUS.

Their description of utopian science fiction. Their description borders on Steampunk and less "utopian" and distopian literature.

But, after having said that Gibson is a genius, I wouldn't list Gibson and Sterling's The Difference Engine as good steampunk (as I absorb steampunk and have been reading this book for about 4 months now :( )

Other than being interesting, some of these categories are a little suspect toward the end. Weird.

Ps. Noah Wylie should NOT do support lovely cuddly polar commercial, it's just as bad as those animal shelter commercials. Shit.

Here I am folks, back in Texas. I'm sitting with two sleepy dogs who look thankful to be out of the heat. I'm here to spend the week with Cory, during which we are going to float the river (with Jamie and Damon!). I'm excited.

We are going to Rosas today! I miss cheap fast mexican food like nobody's business. Stupid excited cuz then we are going to Ulta. I don't know if I can handle so much in one day. And then this Thursday is Terminator! Whoo!

May movies:
X-men - enjoyed, even though I know it comically is not the same. Hot men with no shirts? Sign me up. The CGI was BAD at points though. Ridiculous. I mean, we have the technology, they certainly had the money, and it still looks like 1970s? Sheesh.

Star Trek - pretty bad ass. The characters were perfect, the acting was good (Zach, just let me know when you are in Mississippi), and the story wasn't too bad either. Could have used less bad boy rogue cowboy action, but whatevs.

To see:
Angels and Demons (thankfully I didn't read this one yet, so I'll be ok) and Terminator.

Then Harry Potter/Public Enemies/Transformers. Whew. That's a lot of summer movie action.

Started reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. So far, (book 1), I am unimpressed. He tends to do that to me. Underwhelm or overwhelm and nothing in between.

Another yay! Scott is selling me his old tablet. Then I am going to learn how to draw or something awesome like that and redo this site. All cool like. Hopefully.

one day this week, school will end. And life will be more fabulous because school is over, but less fabulous because that means that my statistics class I haven't prepped for at all will be closer. Sheesh.

This picture is my pretty new art piece I bought. I think it's pretty much awesome sauce.

Lots of things are new and crazy, but it's 10pm and I'm exhausted. Here's the short story:

My old adviser had to get a pacemaker! He's probably one of the healthiest people I know and that's just bonkers. I had some awkward student moments today (read: student with a crush), got to look at a disgusting place to rent (ugh) and am currently thinking about why cory had to bring the sick with him from Lubbock. Blah.

But memorial day is soon! And that means river floating and general vacay awesomeness.

Minus that my computer is still in the shop :(

I think I mentioned that scott created a wonderful new background design for my website. However, it's the end of the school semester, which means about nothing is getting down right now.

I feel a little lost without my laptop :( but it went to the shop this weekend to get a new screen :) :) and then I also bought a hard case shell to help protect against erin clumsiness and high heel shoed American Airline employees. Ugh.

This weekend was fabulous - the Derricks where in town (fun!), I went to Double Decker (hot! fun! fabulous!), bought an awesome piece of art that I have to get framed (money :(), got to see Cursive (OMG!), and generally didn't sleep enough.

Well off to the gym. It's 28 days and counting until the river trip and I'm not getting any skinnier sitting here.

Blah today is blah. I have so much work it's unbelievable. I've been working all day. And I'm still working while forensic files keeps me from falling asleep on my desk. Blah!

More pixels are dying on my laptop and it makes me really sad. It doesn't really help that I can't keep the cats from walking on the screen ugh ugh. Soon it's going to be a lost cause and I'm going to bit the bullet and pay for fixing it. Discover is having this cool thing where it's no finance charges until August. But only on purchases over 500. And the computer fix is 495. Classic.

I love that my amazon gift certificates come with the title "oh goody", when it should really read "thank you for spending so much money with your Chase card, we really appreciate it. The economy may be down, but our sales have tripled. Thanks and keep spending!"

Sheesh.

I'm not even going to get into how long this spring break was and how it went from bad to good to bad to good to "thank god i'm home and can sit on my ass".
