Must read book lists

1000 Best Sci-Fi Novels
My reading list got a lot longer....I have only read 16! Sadness! That includes two books I've only read half of (Blindness and something else). I own about 4 more that are in the to-read category.
I've only read two of the best dystopias, but some of them are weird (how do you not have Brave New World on such a list?!)
Sounds like the next project after the 50 book list (of which I have about 5 done already, and it's still January. Kind of an under achievement goal for the year, but oh well).

Ooh, that is a really good list - I'm always dying for good science fiction recommendations, since it's so easy to wind up with bad stuff.
And it's like barely a tenth of the list, but whatever, I'm totally proud that I've got 30 finished, and another 4 that I've read at least parts of.
But it has a lot of weird omissions/additions. No Tolkien? No Le Guin? Both Alice in Wonderland books?
Ah well, at least Hyperion is on there. Otherwise the list and I would have issues.
Thanks for that Erin, until 20 minutes ago I thought I was well-read.
On the total list I've managed 43, 21 of which are in the Sci-Fi category.
That's all I've got time to write now, as it turns out I need to be reading...
