HI ALL. Where have I been? So here goes:
School:
I am finally finished with what feels like the semester from hell and quite possibly the biggest mind fucking 5 months ever. (Sorry that's vulgar but sometimes you just got to be to explain things). The two classes I was taking were a LOT LOT of work, but somehow I managed to pull As in both of them, even when I stopped caring about grades and was determined to finish. Dude, 50 page finals and extremely hard grading schemes are NOT your friends. Seriously. But making an A in a class that everyone else deems impossible feels pretty good, like a sad badge of determined craziness.
Quals. Le sigh. Thought I was going to go insane there for a while. Finished the hardest section, so I'm not even too stressed about the other 3 (ask me again in June). I think I had a mental breakdown there in the middle of things, but the Stan helped me out. Neat. I passed by the way. Yay doctoral student.
Life in general:
Could be going better, but not too stressed. My old roommate wigged out and has been pulling some interesting escapades lately, but I've been more amused than frustrated. Well, I've been frustrated, but there is only so much of it you can take for serious. (Like forgetting to take your check when you called for it, and then came over and took your stuff ha). Made me realize how drama avoiding I am. If it looks like drama and smells like drama, just don't call back. So, I didn't. Anyone who thinks they can tell me or demand me to do something doesn't know me at all anyway. I reserve that right for people who make a difference in where my life is going only (i.e. parents and advisor).
EXCITEMENT:
I am taking off today to go see Benjamin Gibbard. LIKE WHOA. If you didn't know, he's the lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie, and I am beyond stoked. But actually, it's time to leave, so I'm out.
